I heard the footsteps and my breath stopped in my throat. Embry stood up, he faced the door waiting, his heart beat in his throat, his breathing was tight as we both waited for whoever it was to come.
"Caius, she's fine! She drank the blood lite then laid down to think. I brought Telo and Tela to examine her mind and see what she is." Mika shouted just behind the door, I could hear her little heart race and I knew she was trying to get them to leave before they saw Embry.
"You're future is as confusing as the new child of the night. Shall I train you along with her?" a male voice asked and I heard Caius growl.
"No thank you, Vern will need escorting to the meeting in Venice." I breathed again as i heard his quick footsteps back down the hall. Mika giggled and opened the door. She came in with two pale looking figures, one male and the other a fragile looking girl.
"Newborn, this is Telo and Tela. They are members of the Malkavian clan, they are very interesting figures and I believe they can help us." Mika said sitting down gently next to me and laying her head on my shoulder. The male walked forward and smiled, he had a wide jaw and strong cheekbones, but very thin lips and dark eyes. Black hair hung back in a long ponytail behind his head.
"What is your name?" he asked gently. The girl remained silent as she watched me. I shook my head and decided to watch her as she walked over to lay her hand over Embry's heart. The motion didn't look intimate but i felt an urge to rip her hand off. "Violent little girl, are you sure she isn't more fit for our clan than yours?"
Mika shook her head and moved closer to me, i was still watching Tela near Embry. She turned to face me and her long blond hair brushed his hand. She was beautiful, i ground my teeth and looked down at my balled up hands.
"Tela thinks that this child name will bring up too much pain and she will eventually...cause harm to herself or you." Telo spoke staring at the girl. I raised my eyebrow and Mika smiled at me.
"Telo and Tela have a bond. She has been mute all her life but Telo can read her mind, so it is not a problem. So she will choose her name? What will it be newborn?" Everybody looked at me and my eyes flashed to Embry, he slowly smiled at me.
"October....my name will be October Night." i whispered staring into Embry's eyes.
